NATIONAL CADET CORPS (NCC)
The NCC in India was formed in 1948. It is the youth wing of the Indian Armed Forces with its headquarters in New Delhi, India. It is open to school and college students on voluntary basis as a Tri-Services Organization, comprising the Army, the Navy and the Air Force.
NCC AT SRM TRP ENGINEERING COLLEGE
The National Cadet Corps (NCC) was formed in SRM TRP Engineering college in December 2022 under the National Cadet Corps Act of 1948. It was raised as subunit under the 2 (TN) Battalion NCC, Tiruchirappalli, with a sanctioned strength of 52 cadets. It was inaugurated by our beloved chairman, Dr. R. Shivakumar, M.D, Ph.D. This subunit has achieved several milestones and has added several feathers to the crown of our college.
Our NCC cadets are trained in various activities, such as:
- Drill for smart composure
- Weapon training for confidence
- Map reading for self-reliance
- Field craft for calculations and lateral thinking
- Physical training for toughness
- Social service for leadership and selflessness
- Shooting, cycling, trekking, and sports
Our students participate in various training camps every year, which consolidate their training. The B and C certificates are offered by the NCC after one year and two years of training, respectively.
NCC SYMBOL
NCC Flag Contains NCC Crest in gold in the middle, with the letters “NCC” encircled by a wreath of seventeen lotus with a background in Red, Blue and Light blue. Red depicts the Army, Deep Blue depicts the Navy and Light Blue depicts the Air Force. The seventeen lotuses represent the 17 State Directorates.
