Youth Red Cross (YRC)

Overview

The Youth Red Cross (YRC) is a part of the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) and is a voluntary humanitarian organization. It aims to cultivate among the youth a sense of discipline, service, and dedication to humanitarian causes. The YRC promotes health, hygiene, and sanitation practices among people.

The Youth Red Cross is a group movement organized for group members aged 18 to 30. The YRC celebrates important days such as World Yoga Day and International Youth Day to raise awareness about its activities. The YRC also provides opportunities for youth to develop their personalities, communication skills, and social awareness and helps accomplish self-development goals through selfless service. Through its activities, the YRC aims to create a generation of socially responsible citizens who are committed to serving humanity.

Vision

To enable the growth and development of, spirit of service and sense of duty with dedication and devotion in the minds of youth. Awareness on the care of their own health and that of others.

Mission

Informing youth members and others of the roles and responsibilities of the Red Cross and encouraging them to contribute. Understanding and acceptance of civic responsibilities and acting accordingly with humanitarian concern, to fulfil the same. To foster better friendly relationship with all, without any discrimination.

 

YRC at SRM TRP Engineering College

The college has Youth Red Cross (YRC) registered in 2022 under Indian Red Cross Society and Anna University. The YRC volunteers are required to involve in blood donation camps and awareness campaign activities for the society as well as students. YRC activities aim at instilling discipline, creating Awareness, promoting culture, forming character building and developing personality among student communities through these kinds of community services.

Motto

The motto of Youth Red Cross is “to serve”. The society’s mission is to provide relief in times of disasters or emergencies, promoting health and taking care of the vulnerable people

YRC Emblem

The emblem of a Red Cross is as with vertical and horizontal arm of same length on and completely by a white ground or the designation “Red Cross or “Geneva Gross.”
